Spray drying is the preferred method of drying many thermally-sensitive materials. It is a beneficial tool as it offers a
consistent particle size distribution, short residence time, controls the degree of crystallinity, and controls bulk
density of the dried particles.
CENNATEK has installed a pilot spray-dryer for product development and R&D.
Spray drying involves three fundamental unit processes: (1) liquid atomization, (2) gas-droplet mixing, and (3) drying from liquid droplets. Atomization is accomplished using a high pressure nozzle. With this atomizer, solutions are dispersed as droplets into a heated chamber where heat transfer occurs. The liquid is vaporized and the dried solids are collected in outlet drum.
CENNATEK offers this service for a range of applications, contact us for a quotation.
